The upgrade to the Acquisition Workflow is focused on making all available license types and costs visible. For Kortext Complete customers, the portal will confirm title availability, but the pricing should be ignored. A future enhancement will be aimed specifically at Kortext Complete customers.
Currently the system will not flag new editions, but we have taken this feedback and this functionality will be built for a future release. Kortext has committed to new edition notifications in the SUPC and APUC frameworks so this will be prioritised for release in the summer.
The Acquisition Workflow must be set up for each customer, but it will be offered to all returning and new customers.
The April release includes easy basket rollover functionality, enabling you to duplicate any existing baskets. This will be further improved for our summer release, flagging when a book is expiring and asking if you would like to renew.
48 hours for standard pricing currently. The new order process will show available pricing up front. Negotiating with a publisher takes approximately 5 days, depending on the publisher.
The Acquisition Workflow will be operational for the academic year, with functionality that includes: the ability to choose textbooks, view and switch between pricing/license types, and submit for a quote. Kortext will then return the final quotation back to librarians after reviewing the request. This process will go through continuous improvement as we work towards quotation and placing an order occurring within the Acquisition Workflow. The aspiration is that this will be deployed before the start of the new academic year.
Incremental improvements to the Acquisition Workflow will continue post the spring deployment with regards to quotation and order placing together with additional functionality. We plan to share more information on the summer release during our summer webinar in June. Invitations will be sent in the coming weeks.
